Who am I?

I am Kate! I am a Mama to two boys, a wife to my high school sweetheart, a daughter, a sister, a nerd, and an artist.

First Camera.

Baby Katie is taking pictures. I have loved photography for a long time. The way images make you feel and take you back to a time when…

Together 19 years.

We met in elementary. We dated in middle school then took a break. Then he got down on one knee in the summer of 2000, and we have been together ever since. We said our vows in 2014..

Deep love for analog.

I will always have an extraordinary place in my heart for the darkroom. I spent countless hours in there during my undergrad. It was my happy place; where I could zen out 100%.

My first Self-Portrait.

I took this in high school. There is a lot going on here. High school is when I fell in love with film and the darkroom.

Nerdy Girl.

2011 and there is a lot of geekdom going on in this picture. I love Harry Potter. The imagination involved in reading those books and watching the movies is astounding. I have read to books more times than I can remember and do a movie marathon once a year.

I am a Daddy’s girl.

When I was a little girl, my dad was a Contracted Builder, and I spent a lot of time on jobs with him. He taught me that girls could do anything that boys can.

My Mom always said she did all the hard work but I looked like my Dad. I fought with her on it frequently. This picture the resemblance is undeniable.

I love being pregnant.

I know. It’s annoying, but in spite of the heartburn, and pinched nerves. I love being pregnant. It is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced.

I am a Fine Artist

I like to use various mediums to explore varying aspects personal and societal issues as becoming a mother has influenced the way I interpret my childhood, past experiences, and the world today.

I come from a large family.

I have two brothers and had two sisters. I feel so lucky to have these people in my life. They have been my biggest champions.

I love being a mom.

Dude… it is hard. So hard, and when I am at my wits end I try to remember it can be so rewarding. Being called Mama is literally one of the best things that could have happened to me.
