This April I had the opportunity to travel to South Carolina with some of the amazing females in my life for a ladies weekend.
I went ahead to Charleston and visited with one of the ladies and her family. We took the opportunity to see the Angel Oak. It is a 400 to 500-year-old Oak Tree. While we were there, I met a painter who was working on a painting of the tree. He too was from Michigan, and we had a lovely conversation about how awful Michigan winters are.
On our way to Myrtle Beach to pick up the ladies
Gay Dolphin Gift Cove
The most intense gift shop on the boardwalk is the Gay Dolphin Gift Cove and by intense I mean there are at least four or more levels of gift paraphernalia. We didn't even see all them all! There were coves of ALL the dolphin gifts and ALL the turtle gifts. It was terrific — a photographers dream.
Once a Rice Plantation now elaborate gardens Brookgreen has beautiful flowers and sculptures. We walked over 12,000 steps that day. My feet… whoo, my feet.
Our album drops in July!
Hahah! We had a lot of fun during our self ran photoshoot.
This trip was a celebration for my friend's upcoming wedding, but for me it was so needed. I have had a lot happen in a short period of time this past year, and it was paramount for me to connect and have me time. I think it is easy to forget that as moms we need to recharge our batteries and recenter ourselves to bring our best to our families.
To be surrounded by strong women, drink some wine and sing epic 80’s music was priceless. I am so fortunate to be able to call these ladies friends.
