It is more often than not my three year old will try to make it to the backyard. It is summertime, and Bug would almost always rather be outside. Even in the sweltering heat.
Why is your son crying hysterically you ask?
Because I wouldn't let him watch TV in the bathtub. #worstmomever
My mom always told me to find the humor in motherhood or else you will go crazy. Boy was she right! The raw honest emotion flowing from him was too much. I had to capture it. It is hard to see your child this upset, but the reason why was just too golden.
Life has been moving fast. How has my baby grown so much in what feels like a blink of an eye? While Bug is doing circles around us while it happens. Both boys are coming into themselves. I can't wait to see what sort of human Bean becomes.
This beautiful, tenacious infuriating sweet love-able boy. I won't pretend I haven't been struggling. Motherhood is messy sometimes; it is hard and beautiful and challenging and heartbreaking. I was so glad to hear that my girlfriend had a similar experience with her little one. I cried with relief.
Those beautiful brown eyes.
We have to share our stories, mamas. Building our tribe around one another and supporting each other is so important.
This session was seriously so much fun! The kids did so well, and were hilarious to work with. Dylan and Nichole’s love for each other and the kids is so present. It made the experience so much more rich to be able to capture this time for them.
Nichole and I met in Kindergarten! (That was awhile ago, just in case you’re wondering.) We spent much of our youth together playing barbies, night time hide and seek, swimming and camping in each others backyards. To see her build her life with Dylan and become the mother she has always dreamed of has been amazing. Then to be able to document it for her — double amazing!!
Thank you Nichole and Dylan for letting me photograph your beautiful family.
