Reflections: January 2018
2017 has started off in a weird way for me. I usually feel like I am starting fresh and I feel reenergized with possibility. Instead, my family rang in the new year with a gnarly cold. A whole week of sniffles and sneezes. Rough times. My artistic practices were interrupted during the holidays and I have yet to find a groove again.
I did my first Bridal Show this past month, and lemme tell you it was fun! It was a lot of work curating how I wanted my table to feel, and the brand I wanted to put forth. I met a ton of people through the process of getting items ready for the show, and at the show.
One of the vendors I worked with is Nicki's Knacks Floral Crafts. She is a long time friend of mine, and I was so excited to get some of her pieces for my table. She is a mother of three and kick-ass business woman! I really recommend her work; she is really in tune with her client's needs.
I won't lie, I was sweating and was a little intimidated by all the great vendors who were at the show, but so many great brides stopped at my table. I had a lot of fantastic conversations. Below are the winners of the raffle I held offering five brides additional discounts on their collections. I am so excited to work with them in the upcoming months.
January's Monday Quotes
Last year I started doing an inspirational quote every Monday. I thought it would be nice to archive them here in my monthly reflection. One of my new favorite apps is Word Swag. It is great for creative entrepreneurs to use to create great text and image composites. They even have a watermark feature which is really helpful for photographers who use their own images. LOVE IT!
SO I hope that February is filled with more interesting and new experiences like January was. Regardless of it feeling off, it was good.
