How to Create a Month of Social Media Content in Four Days.

Let’s face it – as photographers, small business owners, or creatives, social media can feel like a full-time job. But what if I told you that you could create a month’s worth of content in just four days?

I say four because I find if you give yourself the space and time to plan, you can do great things. Below I will break it up into manageable steps for even the busiest of photographers.

Let me share my method for tackling the social media beast and freeing up your time for the things you love (like taking photos in Detroit’s gorgeous locations).

Day 1: Plan Your Themes
Think about your pillars of content. For photographers, it might be “client stories,” “behind-the-scenes,” and “education.” If you’re running a small business in Michigan, you might include “your process,” “customer testimonials,” and “local community shoutouts.” Having themes helps you focus.

Day 2: Batch Your Captions
Once you know your themes, write your captions in bulk. Set a timer for 30 minutes and just let the ideas flow. Remember, your audience wants to hear your voice – keep it fun and human. I do my writing on a separate day from preparing my visuals.

Day 3: Batch Your Photos and Videos
Pull from your portfolio or create new content. For Detroit photographers, share a mix of candid wedding moments, family sessions in Ann Arbor, and some creative branding shots. Pro tip: Mix in reels with behind-the-scenes snippets – Instagram loves them!

Day 4: Schedule It All
Tools like Later make it easy to schedule your posts for the month. Set it and forget it – now your content is working for you, even while you’re busy shooting or editing.

Social media doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With a little planning and batching, you can stay consistent and still have time for what matters most.
