Print your photos. Your family does not want to rifle through jpgs when you die.

I know that we live in a digital age, but it is essential to print your photos. It is crucial to have family albums and prints to pass on from generation to generation. There is something about having a tangible object in front of you of the ones you love. As a bit of piece of them is leftover for you, as proof, they were there.

It is your legacy, your story. Your happy moments as well as the sad ones.

Because that photographer who said that quote above is correct, who is gonna take your hard drives and rifle through them to try to find pictures of you to print for your funeral boards?

They are going to print your pixelated Facebook images and use those.

Yikes! Nobody is gonna want to do that.

And I know you are probably thinking, whoa, dark Kate! But I have been the person making the boards. There is a ritual and comfort in sitting around a pile of albums and photos with the people who also love the person you are preparing to celebrate, swapping prints and stories.

It is important. I promise.

For the love, print your photos.

Talk soon,
Kate
