A Summer Family Session in Auburn Hills, Michigan

It was one of those perfect summer days at River Woods Park in Auburn Hills, Michigan, where the sun was shining, the grass was high, and the river was just begging us to jump in.

From the moment we met, I knew this was going to be a session to remember. Kyle and Stephanie were relaxed and ready to let their boys run wild, and E and F? Well, they were basically two adorable bundles of energy with no intention of sitting still – exactly how I like it!

We started at the bridge, while the boys wanted to stick close to mom and dad. Those are the perfect snuggly pictures. Then we decided to travel off the beaten path to the high grass and wildflowers. and of course we ended up in the river! There were splashes, squeals of joy, and some very wet parents. We got some incredible shots of the family playing together in the river – the kind of photos that scream "summer fun."

We ended things at the playground. E and F were in their element, climbing up the jungle gym, whizzing down the slides, and making everything look like a scene from a superhero movie. Kyle and Stephanie were cheering them on, and I captured some fantastic candid shots of the boys mid-air, mid-laugh, and mid-tumble.

Throughout the session, the vibe was all about fun, freedom, and capturing those genuine moments of joy. I couldn't have asked for a better setting or a more fantastic family to work with. Kyle and Stephanie were absolute troopers, going with the flow and letting their boys' personalities shine.

As the sun started to set, we wrapped up our session, with everyone a bit wet, a bit muddy, but definitely happy. It was one of those perfect days that reminded me why I love what I do – capturing the real, messy, beautiful moments that make up family life.

So, to the Roberts family: thank you for an unforgettable day at River Woods Park. Your joy, laughter, and love for each other were infectious, and I’m so excited for you to see the photos. Until next time, keep playing, keep laughing, and keep making those wonderful memories!
