What to expect from your little ones during our photo session.

It is easy to stress out how you think your child "should" act during our photo session. Let me tell you, no two children are the same, and I, of all people, understand that they can be unpredictable with a wide range of emotions. I am prepared for it all.

I generally plan for the first 15 to 30 minutes to get comfortable with each other and photograph them while still holding their attention. I will gently pose and guide you and photograph you as you interact naturally. If I get more than that, I am happy. If the kids want to run around and play I will photograph that as well.

It is so crucial to prep your children for the session. Let them know a friend is going to be taking photos. Make it a special occasion, and try not to bribe them, but offer them a fun family activity afterward.

TIPS FOR YOUR PHOTO SESSION:

  • Bring a dry snack and some water

  • Put your little one down for a nap or quiet time before the session.

  • Prepare them for a friend to photograph them.

  • Big emotions happen, just let them. No big deal. It is part of your story.

  • Relax and have fun!!

One of the best parts of having children is acting like a big kid, sharing our experiences with our little ones, and creating new ones with them. If they run wild, it makes for excellent photos.

In the end, it is most important to relax and enjoy your magical family.

It is going to be a blast!
