Photographing Baby’s First Birthday in Farmington, Michigan

It was the perfect day to celebrate Baby B's first birthday, and I was excited to be a part of it. I could hear the clatter of dishes and the sizzle of the grill as I made my way to the backyard, where Karra and Travis had set up a beautiful party in honor of their little one.

It was a sight to behold - colorful balloons, personalized banner bearing Baby B's face, and all sorts of decorations that Karra had thoughtfully curated for the event. She had put in so much effort, and it showed in the joyous atmosphere that surrounded us. I was amazed by the attention to detail and the love that had gone into making everything so special and unforgettable.

It was a perfect example of why documentary family photography is so important. Capturing the memories of such moments in a family's life is a privilege that I don't take lightly. As a Michigan family photographer, it's my job to document the milestones, big and small, that families experience and celebrate.
